Has Legs respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and the choices you have when you use Has Legs, including our website, applications, and related services.
By using Has Legs, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
When you use Has Legs, we may collect information you provide directly, information generated through your use of the service, and limited technical information about your device or connection.
If you create or access an account using Google Sign In, we may receive information from Google such as your name, email address, profile image, and a unique account identifier.
We use this information to authenticate you, maintain your account, protect the service, and associate your saved work with your account.
We do not sell Google account information or use Google Sign In information for advertising.
2. Voice Recordings, Transcripts and Idea Content
Has Legs is designed to let you talk through an idea, question, problem, plan, or other thought.
When you use voice features, we may collect and process:
Voice or audio recordings.
Transcripts generated from those recordings.
Written notes or answers you provide.
Questions and clarifications generated during the process.
Idea Briefs, Action Plans and other outputs created from your information.
Related usage information needed to operate the service.
Audio and transcripts may be processed by third party service providers that help us provide speech recognition, artificial intelligence, hosting, storage, security and other technical functions.
3. Artificial Intelligence Processing
Has Legs uses artificial intelligence systems to help organize, challenge, clarify and develop the information you provide.
Your transcripts, notes, answers and related content may be sent to third party artificial intelligence providers for processing.
AI generated content can be incomplete, inaccurate or inappropriate for your specific circumstances. You should review important information before relying on it or acting on it.
Has Legs does not guarantee that AI generated results are correct, complete, unique, commercially viable or suitable for any particular purpose.
4. How We Use Information
We may use information collected through Has Legs to provide and operate the service, authenticate users, process recordings, generate transcripts and AI outputs, save and restore your ideas, personalize your experience, enforce usage limits, prevent fraud or abuse, troubleshoot problems, improve product performance, communicate with you, and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Recording Other People
If you use Has Legs to record a conversation involving another person, you are responsible for obtaining any consent required by applicable law.
You should not record private conversations, meetings or other individuals unless you have the legal right and appropriate permission to do so.
Has Legs does not determine whether a particular recording is lawful in your location.
6. Service Providers
We use third party providers to operate Has Legs. These providers may process information on our behalf.
They may include providers for authentication, hosting, databases, file storage, speech to text processing, artificial intelligence processing, security, bot protection, email delivery, analytics and payments.
Current providers may include services such as Google, Supabase, Deepgram, Anthropic, Cloudflare, Vercel, Stripe and PostHog.
Service providers may change as Has Legs develops.
These providers process information according to their own terms and privacy policies as well as agreements they have with us.
7. Payments
If Has Legs offers paid features, payment information may be processed by a third party payment provider such as Stripe.
Has Legs does not need to directly store your full payment card information in order to process a purchase.
Payment providers may collect billing information, transaction details and other information required to process payments and prevent fraud.
8. Cookies and Local Storage
Has Legs may use cookies, browser storage and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember access permissions, maintain sessions, protect the service, restore saved work and improve performance.
Some third party services used by Has Legs may also use cookies or similar technologies where necessary to provide their services.
When optional analytics is enabled, you can choose whether to allow it. If you allow analytics, we send PostHog selected usage events, such as a visit or completed processing step, a random browser-session identifier, limited campaign labels, and a fixed label for the most recent public guide you read in that browser session. This helps us understand which guides lead to completed steps. We do not include your account identity, email, recordings, transcripts, answers, idea content, generated outputs, payment details, full page address or referrer in these events. We do not use session replay or automatic interaction recording. Our server sends these events without forwarding your IP address and disables location enrichment. PostHog processes these events in the United States.
Your analytics preference is stored in your browser. You can change it using Analytics choices. Declining analytics does not prevent using Has Legs. We also respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals for optional analytics.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational measures intended to protect information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction.
However, no internet service, storage system or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You are responsible for protecting your account credentials and devices.
10. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Has Legs, maintain your account, restore your saved work, operate the service, prevent abuse, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations.
This may include account information, recordings, transcripts, Idea Briefs, Action Plans, usage records and related content.
Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and how it is used.
11. Your Choices and Data Deletion
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with your Has Legs account by contacting:
When appropriate, we will delete or anonymize information associated with your account within a reasonable period.
Some information may remain temporarily in backups or may be retained where required for legal, security, fraud prevention, accounting or dispute resolution purposes.
Deleting your Google account does not automatically delete information stored by Has Legs.
12. Children
Has Legs is not intended for children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If we learn that personal information from a child under 13 has been collected without appropriate authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
13. International Processing
Has Legs and its service providers may process or store information in Canada, the United States or other countries.
As a result, information may be subject to the laws of jurisdictions outside the location where you live.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Has Legs develops.
If we make material changes, we may update the effective date, post the revised policy on the website, or provide another reasonable notice.
Continued use of Has Legs after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective means you accept the revised policy.
